The Bedford Bulldogs Athletic Booster Club is proud to announce the Charlie Zink Memorial Scholarship. Two deserving graduates of the class of 2026 will receive $1,000.00 toward a secondary educational program.
Charlie Zink was an active and driven student athlete at Bedford High School and a member of the class of 2024. Charlie passed away in 2021 after his freshman year from an undiagnosed heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He was always learning and always playing, and he taught us so much in his short 15 years.
Charlie loved school and was influenced by so many great teachers in town who he developed meaningful relationships with. He loved writing, science, and art, but his favorite subject was math. He talked often about a career in math and dreamed of becoming an engineer that designs roller coasters. Charlie loved being part of a team. During his year at BHS, Charlie played on the freshman soccer team and basketball team and ran track. He had many individual athletic aspirations, but he was driven most by team success. He was always hustling for loose balls and crashing boards hard, and he took pride in doing the little things on the field or the court. He was often not the top scorer but was always the hardest worker. Charlie’s drive and work ethic were inspiring.

This scholarship is given in the name of the Bedford Soccer League (“BSL”) and NH Classics.
Founded in 1978, this program provided decades of service to the community including extraordinarily successful recreational and competitive programs intended to develop young athletes into quality adults through soccer. Additionally, the program was integral in developing many of the soccer fields in the community including Sportsman, Legacy, Preston, Joppa, and the Back River field complex. In the final phase of philanthropic efforts and continued support of the community, a BSL-NH Classics scholarship was established and is maintained by the BBABC.
